Life Clubs
Living Well’s new Life Clubs service is designed to complement
and support our growing range of services aimed at improving the
general health and wellbeing of people living in London. Life
Clubs enhance participants’ ability to make informed decisions
in relation to their general and sexual health by improving
their self-management skills; increasing their self-confidence,
self-respect and sense of worth; and providing them with the
skills and knowledge they need to make educated decisions with
regard to sex and relationships. Participants who complete a
Life Club will be more confident, more motivated and better able
to make healthy choices in every aspect of their lives.
How do Life Clubs work?
Each Life Club consists of seven weekly, 90 minute
peer-facilitated workshops where 15-20 people meet to explore
important areas of their lives. Each workshop is built around
key holistic self-management issues that challenge participants
to focus on particular questions that affect their ability to
improve the quality of their lives.
How can you join a club?
At the moment we are developing two new Life Clubs. One for young people
(aged 16-25) and the other for people living with HIV. Both
these clubs will be piloted in London from
January 2009 and will only be open to people living in certain
participating boroughs. To find out in which London boroughs we will be
running these life clubs, to register your interest in joining a club or to find out more about
any of the services we offer please
